Born and raised in Durango, Colorado, Kim Furry had the good fortune to come back and start her career in 2000, as an orthopedic surgeon. She loves working with her hands and fixing things which relates to her love of woodworking and a skilled eye for photography. She remembers growing up skiing and exploring in the beauty of nature that surrounds Southwest Colorado. The mountains, the lakes, the wildlife and her love for the land offered great enjoyment which helps provide her inspiration today.

Photography provides a sense of freedom and allows her to share her love of the outdoors with others. It forces her to slow down, be more intentional, and absorb the beauty around her which provides a balance to the serious aspect of medicine. She loves capturing those special moments and being able to share them with others through her photography.
